The National Maintenance and Engineering Conference (NMEC) recently ran over three days in the second week of November and was attended by Engineers from all over the country. The NMEC is a central event for the maintenance engineering and engineering supply community. First held in 2003, the conference breaks down barriers, facilitates communication and networking and helps to share industry knowledge around New Zealand.
The NMEC was very well attended, Tuesday was set up day and open to the public from 2pm. Cocktail night on Tuesday allowed everybody to walk around the various stands and hear a short (and sometimes very humorous) explanation of products offered. Wednesday was for attendees only, and Wednesday night was a ‘let your hair down’ style get-together at the Casino in Hamilton. Thursday continued with viewing of stands during conference break periods. Each break was punctuated with prize giveaway draws (sadly the writer didn’t win anything) and these draws were conducted from a VRS Squirrel, supplied by Equiptec.
The Speakers’ overall caliber, the topics covered and the people attending were all impressive. The 2016 NMEC was well thought out and a great way to get the ‘do-ers’ of the industry together.
Equiptec were proud to present our products at the NMEC and let people know about the increased safety and versatility that VRS, Multiscaff and ZED can offer in the engineering/construction fields.
